A Great Experience
Just a quick note on a great experience I just had. I wear glasses and contacts and my current glasses (6 years old) are falling apart. For me personally, I hate going to an eye wear store or my eye doctor’s store, number 1. Number 2, it seems like all the glasses I try on and end up liking are always $300+ and they end up falling apart anyway. So what is a guy to do?
I don’t know if any of you feel the same way about getting new glasses, but if you do, you might be interested in trying this. I stumbled upon this site, http://www.warbyparker.com/. They have a price point of $95 for all of their eye wear along with some other styles for a bit more. All of the glasses are their brand, so if you like a certain brand, it might not be for you. Nonetheless, they seem to have a good variety of styles and different collections to choose from for any taste. Another thing I really like is that every pair someone buys, they give a pair to someone in need.
I tried their free “Home try on” feature where you select 5 frames from the site, add them to the cart and checkout. http://www.warbyparker.com/Home-Try-On. 2 days later they showed up in a clean, well-designed box with a shipping return label. I was surprised at the quality of the packaging and the frames themselves. They are as good or better quality than the $300 Ralph Lauren frames I currently have. After you drop the box in the mail, you go to the site and ad the ones you like to the cart and go. They have a neat feature for prescription where you can enter it yourself or just put your doctors info in there and they will do it for you. Pretty painless.
Anyway, they have solved an issue for me that is a pain in my a$$ and made it so simple and affordable to upgrade that I may end up doing it once a year or more. Everything is really well built and designed and the process is simple and convenient. Overall it was a delightful experience and who doesn’t like a company that sells Monocles… http://www.warbyparker.com/monocle/.
